Rig tension for winter storage

What is the best practice in regards to rig tension over the winter? Do you recommend leaving it as is, loosen it, or tighten the rig?

Unless you have cranked it up for racing I would just leave it alone. Of course you need to move the turnbuckle body back and forth every year to get fresh lubricant into the threads but other then that just leave it.

One thing I do over the winter, is release the main boom topping lift and clip it to a shroud chainplate, resting the boom on the rigid vang. The mizzen boom is removed and stored on deck, with it's topping lift also clipped to a chainplate.

The main reason for this is to reduce the number of shrinkwrap penetrations . . . but there must be additional stress relief benefits
