I have this switch installed on my boat as part of a recent upgrade, and can say that the fact that it isolates the starting side from the house side during starts, provided the switch is not in the combine position, is very nice.
This is a very good point. I did not mean to imply that this was an AFD-equipped switch, but if there was any ambiguity SailingDog is absolutely correct. However, this switch would be fine if you converted to the dual switch system where both switches remain "on" at all times while aboard the boat, such as recommended by West Marine. A belts-and-suspenders approach would be to add a Zapstop -- very cheap insurance.

John-

I was clarifying because BlueSea does make a few switches that have an option for an AFD...but this ain't one of 'em.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
