It really depends on what you mean by busted hull. Was it holed? did it crack in half? Saying busted is not very helpful. Also, it might help if you said what kind of sailing dinghy it was, since some boats have known issues and may have a well-known repair for those issues. Finally, posting photos of the damaged area in question would help.
However, you can't really post photos until you have 10 posts....since the photo posting function on sailnet is basically broken, and the best way to post photos is to use the  icon to link to photos on flickr.com or photobucket.com.
