I am restoring a 1979 Ericson 27 on a limited budget. Does anyone have a suggestion for an effective, low cost bottom paint? The paint needs to be effective in salt water.
The efficacy of bottom paint depends upon where the boat is located, i.e., warm Florida waters vs. New England or PNW coast. Everybody has their favorite but you should check locally to see what others in your area use. Even a cheap ablative will cost close to $100/gallon but with your boat, that's enough for 2 coats.
