Yanmar

Hi guys I have found two yanmar engines for sale second hand can any one offer any infomation or advice on these first is ysb12 second a yse12g cheers paul

I don't know them Warwick. They are long-stsnding motors, and have a good reputation. Spare parts are affordable, unlike the Volvo.

Yanmar is probably the best marine engine in the market today.

They have come a long way, and in Europe, (I don't know about the US), they are absolutely incredible standing behind their product.

Sometimes they take a while to respond to letters and emails, but do respond to all of them, and amaze me everytime with a "here's the part under guarantee" we'll figure out later what and how it happened.

The engines are sturdy and designed from scratch for marine environment.

I have no first-hand knowledge, but if you've got nothing on those particular engines, I can tell you that they look to be low-profile (horizontal) single-cylinder seawater-cooled 12 hp engines from the 70s. This link has some info:
