Autopilot (sportpilot) belt search....HELP!

Hi all,

I finally got around to finding out why my autopilot has been losing its way from time to time. Well, it turns out that the small toothed drive belt is missing a few teeth.

I have a Raymarine basic Sportpilot. If one were to have ever taken one apart you would discover a drive reduction setup that has two rubber toothed belts. Unfortunately, the smallest one has lost a few teeth. It measures 5 and 1/4 inch split and layed out (2.5 inchs in its round form) I can read that it is a Gates product but the number is gone.

Anyone have experience with these belts in question? More importantly, can you point me in a direction that I can buy one?

I spoke with Raymarine but they only wanted me to send it in for service and were unable to assist me with a part number.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

You may want to try going to an actual Raymarine distributor. Especially if they keep Raymarine reps at the store. I know Fisheries here In Seattle does, and have managed to get things when Raymarine Support would not assist...
