What should I budget for annual maintenance costs?

Well, um.

As I was telling my wife the other day when I wanted to replace my keel bolts "I think I''ll yank her out and do it"

"What" she replied "That boat''s been hauled out of the water three times in the last nine months"

I do tend to pluck her out (and do pressure washes whe she''s out) a bit more than you''re average bear. But, darn, she''s my baby.

So...no diver needed. In the summer I tend to keep her clean myself anyway. Most of the growth is in the winter in Florida (and that really hasn''t been too much).

Err yes it was somewhat expensive, and of course I realise now that I might have been able to do the wire myself (using Stalock) and saved some $$$.

- pulled the stick
- replaced all chainplates (required custom fabrication)
- new wire, swages, turnbuckles, misc fittings, including an insulated backstay
- fitted a masthead wind transducer, anchor light and ran the wire down the ducting
