USCG Required Safety Equipment

Can someone point me to a website that lists the USCG required equipment (PFD's, flares, etc.) that needs to be onboard? I've poked around the USCG website as well as my state's websites and can't find anything.

Check out WWW dot USCGBOATING dot ORG (I don't have enough posts to do a link yet). I have used it many times and it's pretty good. They have an interactive vessel safety check (see Get a Free Vessel Safety Check on the right side.

Just remember, your local requirements may be just a bit different from the Federal ones. For instance, Massachusetts requires all boats over 26' to have a bell aboard... that is not a Federal requirement IIRC, but something local I found out about during my last VSC. The Federal list really is a good minimum to have aboard...
