Bilge keel Bolts

Can anyone tell me when tightening keel bolts are there specific torque settings to follow ???

The answer is yes, but it might be helpful to give more information about your boat. There are different torque specifications for different size bolts, and from what I have seen, different manufacturers and even different models.

My boat has 3/4" bolts and the torque spec is 250 foot pounds but I have seen at least one other boat with same size bolts and the spec. is 90 foot pounds.

Warwicksail..

Warwicksail,

Please read this thread CLICK HERE and then update your profile to include your boat make, model, length and also your home sailing waters. Adding a signature like the one below is even better because then no one has to go searching through your profile to get this, all to often, needed info..

There is a wealth of information and thousands of combined years of experience on this site but all to often we get questions like yours that we can't answer because important info like what boat you have is missing.

Thanks!
