Uh... Well that didn't work as I'd expected!

You might want to look into the Tides Marine Strong Track system. I've had one on my Cal 34 for five years now with no complaints.

I agree..

I agree you want to use a "dry" lube. Using silicone will appear to work for a while but it will eventually attract dust and dirt and most likely leave you worse off.

McLube is the preferred product. I've been using it for years and it is neat, clean, lubes well and is "drip free" meaning it does not stain your decks like WD-40 will as it runs out of the mast track in the rain..

As others have said clean the track first!
