Need cradle measurements J27

I have 1987 J27 and am having a cradle custom built. There are two J27 in this area but one has the steel cradle with fore & aft plywood bunks like a shipping cradle and teh other is on jackstands.

I am looking for measurements for a J27 cradle that uses pads. Does anyone know of a J27 in theior area that we can get mesurements from or a source of cradle specs?

Thanks

Mike

Mike-

Why don't you call j/boats and ask them. I'm sure they have the measurements you need, since they built the boat.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

They were the first ones I contacted and were quick to get back to me with a reply. Unfortunately they didnt have the information readily available.

Yesterday I called Marine Cradle company in Markham, Ontario. They have build J27 cradles before (and trailers) and have everything on file. They are aklso very competitively priced

How strange... you'd think the boat manufacturer would keep a file of cradle measurements around.

Pearson is the builder of the Jboats, and the last time I called them with a question on my 1990 J/34c, they told me that all the old records were un-available. I needed information from the original bill of material for some replacement parts and that was the response. They were polite and helpful, just no old documentation.
