Didn't you bed the rub strake with some sort of compound, like 3M 4000 or Sikaflex before for bolting it into place. If not, you really should remove it and rebed it properly.
Photos would help...but the photo posting feature on sailnet is pretty screwed up and I generally recommend using an external photo site, but you won't be able to do that until you have 10 posts.
