Battery Temperature Compensation for Balmar and Newmar

I am wondering if anyone knows the specs on the battery temperature sensors for a Newmar TCS 12/24 and Balmar mc-ts-b.

Looking online, these things are ~$50 each for what are probably $2 worth of thermistors. This is killing me!

I would appreciate any info that would help me build these sensors rather than fork out $100 (I could get a couple of new lead acid batteries for that!!).
