Autohelm 3000 remote

I'm hoping someone out there has a remote control for an Autohelm 3000 (red dial, not buttons on the unit). If not, can something else be adapted? (Raymarine didn't have any suggestions.) -Thanks

Harlee-

Does your Autohelm 3000 speak SeaTalk or is it from before when Raymarine bought them out?

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Thanks for the reply.
The unit is an analog nautech autohelm 3000 (no SeaTalk). It had a cabled remote optional with the unit.

Try eBay. They have a lot of the weird, orphaned, stuff there.

It may be possible to make your own - Raymarine can probably email you the schematics - from what I understand the 3000 is a 7 pin cable - remote has 4 buttons. There was one site that mentioned how to do it but the url was not found. Probably not worth the effort.....

Additionally if you do not want to go full bore on replacing the entire Autohelm unit - the 4000 series control unit can be wired in (Raymarine has the details) which would mean you could use a seatalk remote control unit...

In the end 4000 is not supported either but I did find places selling the 4000 control head...It may be advisable to drop in to a local place that has Raymarine sales people - (most bigger marine stores will have them as guests in the store on weekends etc)... and see what you can keep and what you need to replace if wanting to go with a newer unit...

Probably not all what you wanted to hear. However, you may be able to post on Craigslist or put up a flyer at the marina and local boatyards to see if anyone has one in your area....as it is now the season to upgrade and what not....
