hot water tank element problems

Two years ago we replaced our hot water tank with a new Plastimo one. (After 10 years the internal piping split) Since the new one has been installed it is burning out it's element every 3 months! We are only connected to shore power during winter so at first we thought it was just one of those things but last night it went again making it its forth in what is only 10 months on shore power...
The tank is connected to the engine heat exchanger and is a raw water.

any ideas anyone???
