Another VC17 Question

Does anybody on the Great Lakes get more than one season out of an application of VC17?
I reapply every spring.

I have a buddy who also sails on the Great Lakes and he does not reapply every year.

What is the general consensus? Is vc17 a yearly or multiple year paint?

Great Lakes fresh water, Cruiser.

From most of the people I have talked to, and from my own experience it seem that 2 years is no issue. After that I have started to notice a few spots that need re-application.

vc

I normaly just touch up the leading edges and the waterline unless i find a wear spot from washing. I dock in a flowing river so I don't get much more than a little slime over a season.

Not to hijack the thread. Now that it's spring and soon the boat will be going into the water. I need to touch up the bottom, the travel lift removed a good chunk of my VC17. So I have to repaint those spots. But I didn't have the bottom washed when it came out(since it was Dec17 and just too cold). But how should I go about washing/prep the bottom for another coat of VC17?

I think you can go 2 seasons but at the end of the second you should expect some build up. I'm in Burnham Habor (was on a can last season) and noticed a lot more fouling that I would have liked. So, I am reapplying this season -- only a few cans for my 31' hull.
