The Sailnet telephone menu is in-op. You're instructed to dial "1" for sales, it patches you through, and then the voice says "voicemail is unavailable at this time." And then it hangs up. Should I post some pornographic pictures to get their attention, or try to contact them by other means?
Might make them stay away, in case they have to look at it !
Be up your way in a week or two, btw.

Plan on coming in this time, rather than going by. If you and the girls come out, don't forget to get a watch to watch sink in the water

I'll bring the beer this time. Maybe my girls can drop my new radio overboard... they like watching the little bubbles produced by sinking electronics.
"i was looking at this radio also. my current vhf is from '92. if i replace it with this radio, can i use the same antenna?"
You CAN, but shouldn't do so blindly. After 15 years your antenna and cable may have corroded internally, and it may be simpler to replace them than to inspect them. If your antenna and coax are in good shape, and the coax hasn't stretched significantly or shown damage, it may still be perfectly good. Technically, the old/new antennas are all the same, age won't matter. And aside from bells and whistles--your '92 VHF will work just as well. Perhaps better, because fewer corners were being cut back then.
The only "weakness" I see to this radio is that it's DSC capabilities only meet the SC-101 specs versus the Class D specs. This means that the radio scans Ch. 70, the DSC alert channel, along with any other channels you're scanning. You could conceivably be listening to another channel when a distress signal was transmitted on Ch. 70. The Class D spec radios apparently use an entirely seperate receiver for Ch. 70 signals so as to interupt your other scanned frequencies. I wouldn't call it a major deficiency in this radio at this price.
