Hyde Roller Furler Question

I just purchased a new Morgan 323 and it has Hyde Roller Furler. Does anyone have any advice, good or bad on this unit? When I first looked at it I was a little concerned that there wasn't a seperate headstay, and that the actual unit was the head stay! It is in great shape for its age and the bearings were just replaced so the unit itself is fine, but I was looking for general opinions from people who have used this unit. If it works fine, and is safe to use I have no problems in keeping it since I would really not prefer to pay for a new head stay and new furler especially since funds are tight from buying the boat itself.

I have checked out the Rig-Rite website that has a long page on these units but I was looking to hear more from people who have had actual experience with these. Again, I know it is an old, outdated system but as long as there are no seriouss safety issues or general problems with this type of system, I plan on keeping it.

Thanks in advance
