CAL 27 Sound deadening/insulating ? material lining sides of Engine Compartment

The sides of the Yanmar 1GM engine compartment in our CAL 27 is covered with some type of soft foam type lining material that is unfortnately coming off the walls. Unfortunately, I don't know the proper name of the material but since it is falling off the walls I would like to remove what is left of it and replace it with an appropriate material that would perhaps function well as a sound deadening material and insulation from the heat of the engine compartment.

Any advice on what material to select and where one might get it would be appreciated.

Thanks,
H216Sailor

Hamilton Jet in Seattle carries a full line of sound deadening materials.

HamiltonJet Noise and Vibration Control

We've used the thick foam with the lead sheet in it and it has worked very well at deadening the noise from the diesel.

Great link, John... could you be more specific about which of their products you actually used and how you attached it?
