Tachometer/ignition switch for Perkins 4-108 M

Namaste!

I am researching a new tach/ignition switch for our boat, a '71 Cheoy Lee 42. She has the above engine.

The old tach glass burst last year and the bugger didn't work when she was bought as well - so we knew it needed replacing. Also, the ignition switch setup has corroded considerably as well. Bottom line is, all that needs to be replaced.

I'm looking for advice for a new tach. I found a Faria tach, TD9181 (PN 34842). I assume we have a mechanically run tach by the cable and age of the engine. I suppose that could be wrong.

We'll also need a new cable, gear (if it uses such a thing), ignition switch, buzzer & stop button.

Please reply with pertinent advice, etc. I am redoing the cockpit panel (which is, honestly, a hodgepodge) and would like things to look nice and clean.

Peace, Love, and Light,

/s/ Jon C. Munson II
