Cables rattling in mast?

What''s the best way to stop a cable from rattling aroung in the mast? I have a couple ideas, but see some bad reasons not to do them. Thanks.

The sound you hear is probably not the cables but in actuality a deadly snake. Run for your life!

constant clankedy clank keeping you awake at night. get some pipe insulation (usually black or grey) and wrap it around the wires and slide it up the mast. Even better, if your spar has accomodations for internal slides, simply purchase said internal slides, zip-tie the wire/insulation assembly to the slides in 3-5 foot intervals and slide the whole thing up the mast. Having trouble finding slides that fit your spar, get creative, modify some track slides or just forgoe that option alltogether..

...Always ran the cable (wiring, etc.) successfully in a mast when stepping, so no experience here with rattling.

If you have internal halyards you have to run a wiring tube inside the mast. If external halyards remove the wire leaving a messenger line attach pieces of foam slightly larger thne the mast every few feet to the wiring as you rethread it up the mast.This should stop the clanking and make your neighbors very happy.

just get nice big fat cable ties or zip ties. cut them shorter...about a little longer than the open space in the mast.

Than ziptie every few feet. Stops the noise right away, is cheap, relative easy, and doesnt foul up anything.
