While sailing, if you're not barefoot...you're wearing ___________

I am trying to decide on some shoes for the '08 season, wondering what others like.

I own Keen Newport's and Sperry Topsiders. I need something for racing as well.

So fill in the blanks and help me out:
When cruising and not barefoot, I wear _________
When racing, I wear ________
I sometimes/never (circle one) wear socks.

Any recommendations welcome particularly for racing

While sailing I never go barefoot.
I am always wearing shoes with NON MARRING soles that have good traction.

Typically some Keen sandles either racing or out for phun! I also got some sperry boots last month, those are sweet, they have insulation so they are warm when it is in the 30's, coldest I have been in with them so far.

Upon occasion i will also where some typical canvas topped deck shoes, or leather Sperry or equal boat shoes.

As far as socks goes, almost always unless the temp is above 70 or so. yes, I m a pacific NW US native that wears socks with sandles! We do that around here! So get over it!

I really need something good and sturdy. I like wearing socks actually but don't always. Tjk1, any favorite shoe or brand?

Anyone wear these with socks?

When weather is nice and cool, I go barefoot. When it is hot and the deck burns, I wear Crocs or Alligator (fake Crocs).

When cruising and not barefoot, I wear boatshoes (or flip-flops)
When racing, I wear boatshoes
I sometimes/never wear socks . . . with boatshoes

In fact, I wear boatshoes everywhere, including when hard at work at the office . . .

I have the Sperry Top-Sider SB870 (yellow/blue/white) and don't care for them a bit. They're very comfortable but slip like I'm on a greased deck. Very unstable . . . for me anyway. I've busted my @$$ many times with them. I've gone to bare feet lately.

Glad this topic came up. I need better shoes. I'll stay tuned . . . . . . .

Sebago's been my brand for a long time, Clovehitch and Docksides. They're long-wearing, well-made and comfortable.

I'll second the Sebago's, comfortable and cheap (<25 bucks)
