Steaming light

I'm looking for a steaming light and the ones I've found are rather large/combo units that include a deck light. 2.5 x 6" I think is a little too big 1/2 way up the mast for racing. The stick on my merit is oval shaped as well. I'd like to use LEDs. Any suggestions? I even saw some for $400+ but I'd like to opt for a cheaper solution considering I'll be sailing most of the time. Like less than $50.

It is already wired for mast head lights correct? If you don't want to use the combo light, there might be some alternate lights available, look in the sea kayak/Dingy area of places like landfall, boaters world, etc. They have some small units that are clamp on / strap on.... What? ... anyway they may have something small that you can find a bracket for and mount as you like.

Sailnet carries the Forespar combi unit for $62 bucks.

There is also a perko compact steaming light at go2marine.com for $26 bucks.

If your engine has a charging system I wouldn't think it worth the cost for LED's for the steaming light.
