Calebd, ck out SailCare ... not sure how they re-resin, but here's an overview. I'm sure the folks at Sailcare will explain further if you call, as they are very helpful.
The Sailcare treatment is not for new or practically new sails, but for those like the tread post describes. "Old, dirty, stained sails" are ideal candidates.
Spot cleaning a stain is a different story and best done at home/marina with a cleaning agent like lime, vinegar, etc.
In the DC area, I have also used Potomac Sailmakers, located right off I-95 in Alexandria, for cleaning, repairs and recutting sails. Good guys, good work.

A friend of mine who owns a Manta had his sails cleaned at Sailcare and he had to cut 3" off his battens because the sail had been shrunk. I think my main was also shrunk but to a lesser extent - maybe 1" to 1 1/2". Has anybody else noticed this?

They usually offer a discount rate during the Month of December.
Watch for it. Also, make sure you get them to them in the non peak winter months. If you send them in now, you probably won't be using them any time soon.

That is the first I have heard of anything like that.

I'm not sure how you'd go about shrinking dacron, intentionally or otherwise. I suppose it's possible but it's certainly a mystery to me. I've no doubt I'd be more than a bit disappointed were it to happen to me. Has anybody heard of this about sails or dacron in general?
