Kinda curious on that one too since Olive oil is organic will break down and dissolve anyways...now if using motor oil or something like that I would agree whole heartedly. But EVO?

Alex, does the head in the first picture leave compression lines on your legs? HaH! I'll bet your legs go to sleep after a good dump.

Ha-Ha- I'm slow, but I can take a cofortable dump while I enjoy a cup of expresso. Photos to follow tomorrow if within wifi range.

If you've poured oil into the head and pumped it through to the holding tank, it will sit on top of the contents of the holding tank. The nasty head smells are usually caused by one of two things: Rotting sea life, or Anaerobic Bacteria, which is why your head holding tank has to be vented well.

If the holding tank isn't basically empty at this point... the oil will prevent oxygen from reaching the contents of the holding tank, promoting the growth of the anaerobic bacteria, and killing off the aerobic bacteria.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

GUI-

It's the bacteria that live on your turds that are the problem. and if they're big enough for you to see with the naked eye... you got other problems.

On Alex's boat it's the expresso that gets dumped...VERY EXPENSIVE expresso!

It was amazing...20 minutes of cooking, Portuguese swearing and lots of crying, and you get handed a mouthful of warm coffee. Alex just has one of those tiny stovetop things on board, because a proper coffee maker would "add too much weight".

Thank God there was Sagres beer...

We tried to tell him that very expensive spilled coffee polishes the floorboards, but he didn't believe us. I think he's looking for crew with gimballed ankles...

They aren't worms, they are percebes! They go nice with a little olive oil you might have aboard for the head.

I see...,makes sense. We don't winterize boats in southern California (use them year round), so I didn't know that.
