Connect the unit to the computer using the NMEA 0183 serial port, rather than the USB port. Maptech Offshore Navigator Light should have no problems with talking to the
GPS then.
You will need the data cable as well as a serial port on your computer, and you'll need to make sure the
Garmin is set to transmit in NMEA 0183 mode, which is 4800, 8, n, 1. The default is usually
Garmin's proprietary serial protocol, which MapTech's software won't recognize.
