One simple thing I did, but figured it out. When I pulled the shut down pull knob, I left it out. When I came back a week later I was really pissed. I check everything then leaned on the handle and noticed it was engaged. Pushed the damn thing in and started right up. Just a thought. Or maybe it is in but slipped and did not release. Follow the shut down cable and see if it is movind the shut down lever.

I am happy to report - problem is now fixed and purrs like a well oiled machine. I was not bleeding all of the main hi pressure injectors, and the electric pump I installed - needed to just be inline. David thanks so much for coming down and providing your immense support!

We actually took her out for the first sail since I purchased it - what a blast. Thanks - I'll end the thread tomorrow with pics of the setup and the entire process to do...

Thanks again everyone - and specifically David whom made the special trip out to tackle the issue methodically, explaining the process step by step - sometimes that is what one needs....

You are very welcome, Jody..

First sails on a new boat are always memorable. I am honored to have been there.

It was a fun evening and a great sail.

She's a beautiful boat, and again, congratulations!

David

Yanmar won't start

I've heard of this before. Fuel tank had to be cleaned.Replace or clean your filters remove fuel line from tank and place in can of fuel ,start bleeding at filter and work your way to lines on cylinder head. There should be compression release at valve cover, use starter 5 seconds at a time cmpression released then close them,if it starts tank or pick up tube may have trash stopping them up some pick up tubes have screen on end.DO NOT USE STARTING FLUID,
GOOD LUCK HOPE THIS HELPS

Thanks for the update.

I get a little disappointed when I see a lot of people offering sugestion to a problem and then the op either goes away or never reports on the outcome.

Is it ego?

Nah, I have what I call a GEEWIZZ book. In this book are trouble shooting solutions.

New entree: Small engines take a long running time to
show problems in fuel system repairs.

That is KEWL Jody,

Nice to know you are running engine wise, and have even had chance to sail her! One of these days I will be down there when you are and take a look. Will be gone this weekend, unless you want to bring her up to port madison!

Add another good guy to David.

Marty
