Multi-season paint - how many seasons?

I have used ablative multi-season paint on my hull for about 10 years now. Every time the indicator undercoat shows through, I touch up the affected areas. About every three years, I have put another whole coat of paint on.

I don't want to forgo the major benefit of ablative paint (no sanding!), but at the same time, I don't want to find barnacles when I haul in the fall. I would ideally like to continue to just touch up high wear areas as the indicator coat shows thru. How many seasons will ablative bottom paint (Micron CSC for the most part) remain effective before it needs to be stripped off? I know, I know; the best solution is to sail so much that it wears away as designed. Would that that were possible....
