Any Mirage 24 owners out there?
Hi,
I was hoping might be a Mirage 24 owner out there who would be willing to post photos of the deck attachments for the mast forestay and the rigging for the split backstay. The PO took everything down before I had a chance to get pictures. I have the chainplates for lengthening the forestay but would like to see how it's attached.
The backstay is split which is a new setup for me. It's an adjustable stay but there's too much slack; somewhere there needs to be some pulleys to keep even tension on the stays but I'm not sure how to set that up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also I need to throw in a HUGE props to the guys who run Barkers Marina in Superior, Wisconsin. Not only did one of the owners help me get our new (to us) boat out from the service pier without crashing into anything (like the huge Caliber with the new bottomcoat and woodwork) but also jumped in to help with a mast raising experiment that did not go quite as planned.
Actually everyone we've met so far on our doc has been extraordinarily helpful and friendly. And they're powerboaters. So much for stereotypes. Haven't seen any of the sailboat owners yet.
Thanks,
Mike
