Sea Tiger maintenance

My Sea Tiger windlass leaks a little grease from its base. I have obtained a new gasket so I can remove and reinstall the base plate. I wonder whether I should also use some caulk around the plate edges and bolt holes, there doesn't seem to be any now.

Has anyone put one of these back together again and remember how the base plate gasket was fitted/

Thanks.
