Cracks in the gelcoat should not indicate cause for concern that water will get into a core, unless the figerglass substrate is also cracked - which would be unlikely - but if it were, the substrate should be gound out and repaired with new glass.

More likely any wetness in core would be traced to failing bedding.

If you have typical spyder-cracking in gelcoat, repairing it with gelcoat is the best way to go, from any perspective. Once agin, try to figure out how to correct the source of the spydering.

Yep, rebeding the hardware is on the list too.

I was hoping for an easy fix on the gelcoat cracks as I have bigger jobs to deal with, but I may be better of skiping the Life Calk and do it the right way at some point.

Sypder cracks are a common cosmetic problem, many owners live with them without a thought, letting them go until when/if you can correctly address them is a reasonable approach...
