Dingy davits
I''m considering installing davits that can hold my 10'' Porta-Bote in the "set-to-go" position. I''ve seen davits with two arms that hold the dingy over the transom. I''ve seen others that hook the dingy along a gunnel while the other gunnel is pulled up out of the water. The latter is cheaper, but they most likely will casue the rear view from the cockpit to be obscured. Also, with the dingy in a near vertical position, I would think that it may act as a reverse sail, and the motor could not remain mounted on the dingy.
Are there any other davits that can work? The least expensive "ready to go" davit system I''ve found is about $550. Does anyone know of a better price? TIA.
