New Sails-stitched and taped??

I just received two new sails for my Ericson 23, a mainsail and a furling genoa. In the manufacturer specifications they note that the sails are stitched and "taped". I can't seem to see any evidence of taping, or maybe I don't understand what is meant by the term. Also, they forgot the Ericson insignia, is that needed if one wants to race? Thanks.

Paneled sails are often assembled with 2-sided tape to hold things in place until they are stitched. You are unlikely to see any "tape" as it will be inside the seams.

As to your insignia, it is not a requirement for racing, but a sail number usually is.

Enjoy getting to know your new sails!
