What brand of depth finder do you recommend for a sailboat on a lake? Cost is very important. I currently have a Raymarine ST50 Tridata but the depth indicator just flashes zeros (no problem with the speed). Any suggestions for a fairly low cost fix (or replacement)? I'm looking for something under $500.
The first thing I would do is check the wiring connections from your transducer to the display unit. If those prove out ok...then remove the transducer and send it to Raymarine repair to be checked out. This is not that old a model and the display seems to be in good order so don't give up on it yet!
