Intermitant Beep?

Hi all. I forgot to add this to my last post, but my boat was beeping occassionally while under sail and/or motor today. Fluids were good and the motor temp was normal. I even got the beep while under sail only. It came from the cabin somewhere, but I couldn't figure out where. I took the CO detector outside with me and the beep continued from inside. Any ideas?

Thanks, montenido

Depth Sounder set to alarm at less than "X" feet. The little speaker is on the back of the unit so it sounds like it's coming from inside the boat.

That's just a guess...

Have you got a smoke alarm with low battery? That will do it.

My depth sounder alarm will go off when I get into deep water and it stops picking up the bottom. Another source of beeping might be the battery monitor.

Its why you were given 2 ears--for sonar direction finding.

Speaking of sonar...

I was sailing in Hampton Roads, VA a few years ago, and heard an odd chirping/beeping start up down below. Went down to check it out, but couldn't figure out what the source was. It slowly got louder, and then faded--in concert with the passing of a Navy warship. It was his sonar pinging.
