Mast Rake Angle

Hi, does anyone know how to determine what is the proper rake angle for masts in a ketch. I recently bought an Island Trader ketch that had the wooden masts replaced with aluminum in 1997, however they are set up with a very noticable rake aft. Is there a rule of thumb for this? The masts are stepped on deck. Thanks in advance.

Mast Rake Angle

In a general sense, the mizzen is normally more raked than the main mast but other than that there are no set rules for the specific mast rake of a ketch. The vary from the nearly vertical spars seen on many motor sailors to the sharly rakes masts popular on traditional Chesapeake Bay Ketches.
