Seaclear II ROCKS! But can I use it inland now?

I used SeaClear II with every NOAA BSB chart known to man on our vacation and it never failed to amaze me!

The problem is now that we are home, I would like to continue to use it inland, but of course, all I get is the green chart with the little blue specs on it.

Is there anywhere I can get complete BSB charts like the NOAA ones for all of the Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, Idaho and Utah lakes? I've searched the internet but all I get is tons upon tons of BS, or things I don't need.

Should I just go and buy the USGS quads, try to scan them into my computer and then make a poor attempt at calibrating them? That is a LOT of work just for a small lake, not to mention how much trouble it would be with something like Flaming Gorge or Elephant Butte! Besides, I'd be missing all of the fishing information, depths and port info.

Thanks for any help!

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Well, as long as you've got it in any sort of reasonable raster format, it is really easy to bring charts into SeaClear. I had a friend with a giant scanner at work run a scan of a large chart of the lake I usually sail on, and calibrating it for use in SeaClear took maybe 5 minutes and works perfectly. If you could come up with the topo maps in digital form, you could always just import them as you used them rather than trying to do that many all in advance.

If SC2 supported ENC I'd chuck some of the other stuff I have (Fugawi etc).
SC2 is simple and clean - and I like the "logbook entry" feature
Heck I'd even pay a modest amount to have S-57 support

Just some feedback - NOAA doesn't have charts for my area, and I couldn't find any online, so I had to resort to scanning them in and then using the mapclear program to align them. It is fairly simple, but I would have preferred a CD!

Charts and maps I used were USGS topo's (which are available on CD but it looked like more trouble than it was worth), fishing maps of various scales, and the red light readable (can't think of the name at the moment) lake maps that have little details like underwater buildings and sunk boats, trees etc.

Seaclear just chooses the best map for where we are going, and it is all automatic now. There were settings in the program to which maps (detailed small ones vs. less detailed larger) I would prefer to see at which zoom levels.

surftom, I just read something about how to use ENC in seaclear. you may want to review the manual or website.
