MiniBus™ Digital Databus, Switching System

by Cole Hersee. Has anyone had hands on experience with this system . I am about to rewire a 42ft sailboat from scratch and this system looks very interesting.
Thanks

There's an excellent article in the May/June issue of Ocean Navigator on distributed power systems, written by Ed Collier. Also, Nigel Calder has written several articles of interest, and is currently building a new boat in Sweden which will be wired with a new distributed power system.

Bill

PS: my suggestion to you is the same as I gave him: be sure to wire the bilge pumps and the radios directly to the battery in the traditional way--eschewing the use of logical switches in these very critical circuits :-)

I would add running lights to the bilge pumps and radios... if any systems on the boat need to be kept as simple as possible, it is those three systems.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

In a big storm, the lot will get damp, if not soaked.
Will it work then?
I wonder?
