I need a part

Can someone help me with the name of a part that I need to complete my newly purchased 1976 American 16'' sailboat? Please excuse my lack of knowledge with terminology but what I need resembles a Genoa slider. There is a 9/16" wide track on the underside of my boom where (I guess) a block is supposed to be attached. This block changes the direction of the mainsheet downward toward a cam cleat.I am misssing the (slider) part that goes on the track that holds the block. Does anyone know what I am trying to describe? If so, what is it and where can I buy one?
