Gas detectors...

I need some help on how to be sure to control gas leaks on a sailing boat. I had an electrical gas detector , that I have to replace on my new boat, but I am really looking for a mecanical gauge that can detect a leak. The only thing that I found is a 300 psi gauge that is placed between the bottle and the regulator, so then I am not sure how can detect a leak , any help will be really appreciated.

Thank you
