Lectra Scan?

We are negiotating our first boat, a new Catalina 350. We' want everything on it from the start, but are concerned about having the Lectra Scan installed because of issues we've heard from friends and family. It seems the Lectra San did a good job, but when they made it "better" and renamed it the Lectra Scan it has had signifigant issues. We would appreciate any expereince you've had with the Lectra Scan so we can make a decision before finalizing our contract this week.

My Electroscan is fine, and has been reliable for the few months I've had it aboard. Power consumption is supposed to be lower than the older Lectra/San but I have no direct experience to prove it.

I have an old lectra-san, and power draw is nil. I forget the actual number, however. I use mine several times daily per week.

Hope this helps. I had thought when I started typing this message that I had the actual amperage draw, but I had already deleted it.

I think my Electroscan is 30A for 2 minutes per cycle. 1 Ah per flush puts it way behind a reading lamp in the power budget.
