I just purchased a 74 Catalina 22 and have noted that the mast has black streaks on it. Not rough, just stains and the boom has some slight bumpy corrosion in places. What can get the mast looking good again without taking off the anodized surface???
You can wax the mast with a good quality non-abrasive (non-silicone) wax. In northern climates this will last most of a season. Simply wash the mast and then wax it once its dry.
