beefcakes is on a distinguished road
purchased and installed the S1 this past winter, first season in use. very happy with the unit. the rudder sensor had to be mounted upside down. thought it over, devised a plan, it was easier then I expected. Had to reboot the unit after some lightning activity otherwise very happy.

One thing about Raymarine rudder sensors is - they have this internal spring that returns them to one side, and is very very tough. It created a lot of stress on linkage, and is absolutely unnecessary. Removing it made things a lot better. Old Simrad rudder sensor did not have one (and also had a metal arm rather than plastic, but thats ok, I guess)
