If the model was ever offered with electric start you could do it. Im not really sure when it comes to Merc's since im a Johnson/Evinrude person myself. I know on most J/E motors if the model was offered with electric start its a matter of finding the starter/brackets and stator if the motor doesnt already have it.

More info... and thanks for direction...

As best as I can say till I get S# and research. I will assume the motor is circa 1987. It is a 2 stroke and works very well; there is mention in the owners manual of an electric start version. Pull starting is a PITA. Any futher help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Nik and the "Sarah Elizabeth"
