My new Jib Sheets

I just want to tell everyone how happy I am with my new Jib Sheets. I had been using Sta-Set from New England Ropes. I had problems with the sheet catching as it passes through a fairlead. Saturday I switched to New Englands Regatta Braid. Wow what a difference. They don't hang up, and strip off the winches much faster when tacking. It's a little easier on the hands too. I've got a singlehand race next week, and I feel much better about being able to make smooth tacks now.

I'll give this rope an A+.

With a cavet: I switched to Regatta Braid and have had problems with it stripping off the self tailer on my Andersen ST40s. It jammed into the mechanism and caused damage. Andersen says that Regatta Braid is incompatible with their winches.

Interesting, and good to know. I don't have self tailers, so it's not an issue with my boat.

I'll tell the sail shop that sold me the rope to be careful what they put it on.
