Marine Stoves (used?)

Any suggestions on where to look for a 2+ propane burner stove with oven? We're gearing up for a carrib run in the new year and would like to put a new (used....) stove in but I'm having problems finding them.

Another question would be what brands to look for, I know Force 10 is a good name brand but I assume as with anything that brand name carries a high price -- any suggestions on other small stoves/ovens that I may be able to find used?

Thanks!
Brian

Just saw a Hille Range for $350 on craiglist.

If your near Annapolis you can stop Bacon Marine...they always have a couple sitting around.

Brian-

Good Old Boat magazine has a list of marine consignment shops. One may be near you... they often have stoves and stove/ovens as consignment items.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Stoves

I second Bacon and Associates. It's the anti-west marine (price wise), and the staff are all long time sailors, before salesman. They usually have propane stoves in back of all makes and models. Look them up online, their web-site is not geared towards ecommerce, but you can call. Where are you heading south from?

You're probably gonna have to get "on the road", Brian, if you wanna actually lay hands on one before you buy it :-)

Bacon in Annapolis is a good source. They've got a bunch of used stoves (including one of mine).

Another source in southern Florida is Sailorman in Ft. Lauderdale.

I agree with Bill, but with the price of gas, you might be better off purchasing new?

You might also look into hurricane salvaged boats. Maybe your insurance company could tell you where they have their local boats hauled after major damage?
