This time of year is a little depressing - we're still in the water, but our thoughts are already turning to the coming off-season and maintenance projects. Ah well.
Anyway, I've always stored Pokey in a yard during the off-season but long for the days when we had our Cape Dory Typhoon, which we stored on a trailer in the driveway. It was so convenient to work on. Has anyone foregone the boatyard route and had their boat hauled to the house and put on stands there? It costs close to $2k for yard storage, not including unstepping the stick. I've wondered what the cost of hauling would be compared to the cost of storage. The convenience alone would be worth something.
Also, does anyone know what might one expect to pay for a used trailer for a 32', 12.6k displacement boat? That would reduce the cost of transportation to just the haulout and might make sense amortized over a number of years.
