My Outboard Finally Beat Me!

I have had it! Its time to get rid of my existing outboard and look for something else.
What do you recommend? Make? HP?
I have a 28' and sail on a small fresh water lake in North Texas. I only use the motor to get in and out of the marina?

It would help if you said what 28' boat it was... A Cape Dory 28 with a full keel is going to require a bit more engine than a Corsair 28' trimaran.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I had a 26' Parker-Dawson with a 6 hp and it was a little underpowered. California has banned 2 stroke motors (I think). Do you think that may happen on your lake? Just a thought. There's a new electric motor called the torqueedo if you're just going in and out - no fuel hassles: torqueedo.com
