The project is moving forward
So after a long summer of traveling for work and getting the boat home. Then hiring the crane to get it off the trailer then buying the stands to keep it upright then getting two more just to be safe. I have taken the entire headliner out and will not be doing it the same way when putting a new one in. I have taken out all of the crazed main cabin windows and will be ordering my new ones tomorrow. There is a place called Marks Plastics in California is this guy the best for replacements in my Islander 30? There was plywood glued to wall in which the windows sit it was all dry rotted from the leaky windows so I will replace that this weekend and glass in all the seems with West System. Instead of using the vinyl headliner around the windows I am going to glue up some Teak plywood should make the cabin feel warmer. I am debating on whether to re bed the aluminum toe rails? Any suggestions on this? The boat is 27 years old and I have everything out of the way now. Just curious on what I should be looking for. If I do it I plan to do one section at a time. Well I will post some pics tomorrow night as I am pooped from removing a bulkhead in the galley tonight.
