Digital Inclinometer

Any one know who makes a digital inclinometer? I'm sure they are available but I can't find a manufacturer or retailer.

Why would you want a digital inclinometer...it would be far less reliable IMHO, since electronics and battery-powered equipment aren't going to be anywhere as good as a mechanical one.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

To Sell

I'm not going to use it, I'm going to sell it. We have a small chandlery and do get requests for them from time to time. None of our suppliers know of any manufacturer. I'm just trying to satisfy a customers request.
BTW I have seen them used on a few racing boats but didn't pay any attention to the brand name. I crewed on one of them but the boat's been sold.

....Sounds like another source of irritation...
Frankly, what's next, digital yaw meter, digital sail flap counter, digital cup holder alarm, just to tell you that you are running low on liquids...
Well it doesn't surprise me anymore, once air conditioning became a required item...

Personally, it would be great to have a NMEA something one. This way it could be fed to a PC for evaluation along with GPS / Speed data... In a longer range of looking at things - could be important information for a racer trying to dial in speed and effect of degrees of heel.

What? You're not up with the latest??

Every race boat worth it's trophies these days has digital-everything networked to data-loggers and HMI's to display and record everything from the strain gauges in the rigging to wind speed over the deck.

That's what the "digital inclinometers" will be needed for..

EDIT: What Jody said..

Take glass. Fill with three fingers of tasty rum beverage. Go sailing. Count drinks using fingers. If rum leaves glass before reaching mouth, reduce heel.

Voila. Digital inclinometer.
